Randy Langford spent his teenage and early adult years farming rice, ranching, and training cutting horses on the Katy prairie west of Houston. Little did Langford know the influence his former and following life experiences would have on the subject matter and perspective revealed not only through lyrics but also in the melody, arrangement, and groove of the tunes that flow through him from wherever such things originate. Langford’s life of exploration and discovery has included learning about and participating in the practices of native peoples from around the world. It might be the influence of indigenous science that has led Langford’s listeners to coin the phrase “shamanacana” to describe the genre of his compositions. Langford and his life partner and music collaborator, Alisa Carr, have released two EPs and are currently recording a full album that is scheduled for release in Spring 2026. They're joined on their musical journey by Booker, their 4-legged production assistant, Currently, Langford and Carr share their music through live performances and the uniquely curated "Shamanacana Experience" that can be requested on their website: www.shamanacana.com.
